My new desk setup, the book that is changing my life, and my all-time favorite moisturizer for dry skin. Here are 5 things I loved in August.
Summer is officially almost over. It’s honestly bittersweet because I love the warm weather but I love everything that comes with the Fall season. Give me all the Halloween decor & movies, pumpkin spice, and Fall fashion, please. I’m honestly excited for the next coming month, but let’s end August with 5 things I absolutely loved.
shop my entire desk setup here.
1. Laptop Stand
If you work on a laptop, then you need a laptop stand. I didn’t think it would be this life-changing – I just needed it to have better airflow so my laptop doesn’t overheat. It’s so much better having my laptop at eye level, not only for my back but also my neck.
Laptop stands are also ergonomic, meaning it provides efficiency, better posture and an increase in productivity! Definitely the best purchase this month.
2. Phone Stand
Next, in my new desk setup is a phone stand. I originally bought this because I thought it would look cute on my desk but wow it’s so much more. I work on my phone a lot creating pin ideas and editing photos and videos.
After using this phone stand, I noticed less tension in my wrist and thumb and also better posture because now my phone is at eye level. It’s also been my mini tripod when recording Instagram stories! Would highly recommend it if you work on your phone a lot or if you’re a content creator.
3. The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do In Life & Business by Charles Duhigg
I desperately needed a book to read about habits. Ever since I downloaded TikTok, I’ve been addicted *sigh*. This book gave me insight as to why and how we form habits and how we can switch “bad” habits with good ones.
For example, when I feel the urge to grab my phone (to go on TikTok) I instead grab my word search book (my new hobby ?). I simply replaced one habit with another one and it honestly works!
It goes into more detail about how habits are simply a “loop” (cue, routine, reward) and how to use that to your advantage and change your life forever. It’s a great self-help book if you’re stuck in a rut or want to change some old habits.
4. Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub: Tropical Mango
Tree Hut is by far the best brand for body scrubs I have tried so far. The consistency is thick like a paste but easy to apply on the skin. I’ve tried other scrubs that don’t even compare to this one. It smells amazing, leaves my legs feeling smooth AF, and helps with ingrown hairs!
5. Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+
Lastly, is easily a holy-grail skincare product of mine. My skin is dry, so I need something thick, long-lasting on the skin, and has no fragrance (I’m sensitive to fragrance). It’s 4.2 oz and comes with a pump for only $32. Honestly lasts a long time, probably a year, so the price is worth it! It feels super hydrating on the skin so if you have dry skin, I highly recommend trying this one out!
Those were all the things I loved this month. I would love to read some of your favorites for the month of August, so please leave them in the comments! Happy almost September, everyone!

Tree hut makes amazing scrubs!! They’re full of exfoliation, but doesn’t feel like you’re tearing off pieces of skin! Glad someone else is recommending them too!
