Rating and reviewing things TikTok made me buy including the blow dryer everyone is raving about — the Revlon One-Step Dryer.
Happy Monday, everyone! Earlier this year I finally downloaded TikTok. I know I’m like two years late but adding another social media app to my phone sounded so ridiculous (at the time!). I honestly thought it was a platform for people to dance or make funny videos, but it’s so much more.
There’s fashion, beauty, vlogs, cleaning, cats, dogs, and literally anything you can think of. The algorithm is pretty good so it will show you videos you like, so I have not gotten one dance since installing the app!
Today, I am rating and reviewing 7 products TikTok made me buy. They were trending at some point this year and I couldn’t help but try it myself. Some products were really good but others were fails. I will rate each item 1-10 (10 being the best) and give an honest review.

1. Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara
rating: 4/10
Starting off not too strong, this is the $5 mascara everyone is talking about. I however did not like it at all. Yes, it made my lashes long but it gave them zero volume and didn’t hold a curl. Also, it smudged under my eyes really bad! It’s probably because I didn’t get the waterproof one because that prevents smudging. If I were to try it again I would buy the waterproof one to see if it stays on longer, but this one was a no for me.

2. Maybelline Lifter Gloss
rating: 10/10
Easily the best lipgloss I have ever tried! It’s not sticky, it smells like coconut and vanilla and lasts a long time. I got the color “002 ICE” and it’s a very light pink shade. It’s more of a clear gloss on me but that’s exactly what I wanted. This gloss is made with hyaluronic acid, which means it’s very moisturizing. The best way to describe it is it feels like a lipgloss and lip balm combined — it’s amazing!

3. Revlon Blow Dryer
rating: 8/10
Not going to lie, I’ve had this for about two years now but TikTok made me what to re-try it. If you like to give yourself an at-home blow-out I suggest trying this out. It’s so much easier and quicker than using a round brush and standard blow dryer.
It’s best if you have medium to long hair though because my mom has short hair and didn’t like it too much. It leaves my hair shiny and bouncy every time! The only thing I do not like is there are no heat settings, so I only use this when my hair is 70% dry to prevent too much heat damage.

4. Eva NYC Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer
rating: 9/10
I saw Delaney Childs rave about this and I needed a new heat protectant so I thought I would give this one a try. I’m glad I did because I’m obsessed! It’s a 10-in-1 hair primer that detangles, reduces frizz, strengthens, softens, cuts drying time, adds shine, nourishes, smooths, and protects against thermal and UV damage. It really does do all this and make my hair smell good! Since the formula is pretty thick, I can’t use it on dry hair so I have to make sure I remember to spray it when my hair is still wet (the only downside).

5. Verity by Colleen Hoover
rating: 9/10
Colleen Hoover’s books are a hot topic on BookTok right now. I literally finished this book in two days because I could not put it down! Verity is about a girl named Lowen who is asked to finish a series of books by her favorite author Verity. She soon finds out Verity has been hiding something very disturbing about her past, and Lowen is afraid to tell Verity’s husband (the man she is falling for) the truth.
I gave it a 9/10 because some parts are disturbing to read and there is an unnecessary amount of sex scenes (lol).

6. Laptop Stand
rating: 10/10
If you work on a laptop, then you need a laptop stand. I honestly didn’t think it would be this life-changing. I needed something to help with my old laptop from overheating and it has not overheated since I got this. It’s also so much better having my laptop at eye level, not only for my back but also my neck. Laptop stands are ergonomic, meaning it provides efficiency, better posture, and an increase in productivity!

7. Phone Stand
rating: 10/10
I originally bought this because I thought it would look cute on my desk but wow it’s so much more. I work on my phone a lot editing photos and videos. After using this phone stand, I noticed less tension in my wrist and thumb and also better posture because now my phone is at eye level. It’s also been my mini tripod when recording Instagram stories! Would highly recommend it if you work on your phone a lot or if you’re a content creator.

Verity was such a good book! I picked it up when it first came out and I’m sooo happy it got so much love!
